HEROES AMONG US MEDIA BRIEFING
A warm hello from MASW and UNICEF.
The Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Malaysia has organised a closed door media briefing for the Heroes Among Us campaign which saw some of friends making time and effort to be present.
We had a sharing session and a Q&A session with Mrs. Amy Bala, Saskia Blume and Mrs Intan Norhaila, shedding light onto the struggles and changes that social work and social workers truly deserve. We sincerely hope that this is not our only encounter with the media so that we can keep spreading the message and fight the good fight.
The briefing took place at Liberal Latte at Wisma E&C on the 3rd of October 2023.
INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL WORK COURSE

The Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW) with the support of the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia (JKM) has organised a 4-day online training on "Introduction to Social Work (Kursus Pengenalan Kerja Sosial).
This training benefits the community or social service workers, or residential staff working in a non-profit organization to understand the basic theories and approaches in social work practice, the principles, values and ethics in the profession as well as the foundational methods and skills in case management when working with clients.
Dates: 6th - 9th Feb 2023
Days: Monday - Thursday
Time: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Kunjungan Hormat Ke Atas YB Menteri KPWKM Oleh Persatuan Pekerja Sosial Malaysia (PPSM)

Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Persatuan Pekerja Sosial Malaysia (PPSM) hari ini.
Kunjungan tersebut diadakan bertujuan untuk menjadi rakan strategik KPWKM dalam usaha mengukuhkan serta memperkasakan latihan dan pembangunan kompetensi kerja sosial. Kerjasama berterusan antara KPWKM dan PPSM ini akan memperkasakan lagi kesejahteraan sosial kumpulan sasar kementerian.
Turut hadir dalam sesi kunjungan hormat itu ialah YBhg. Profesor Dr. Azlinda binti Azman, Presiden PPSM, Puan Amy Bala, Naib Presiden dan Encik Teoh Ai Hua, selaku Ahli Eksekutif. Wakil kementerian yang turut hadir ialah Puan Siti Adibah, Ketua Penolong Setiausaha, Unit Dasar Masyarakat serta Dr. Sofian bin Haji Brahim, Pengarah Bahagian Dasar dan Hubungan Antarabangsa, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat.
KURSUS ASUHAN TAMAN PERMATA TASKA RUMAH (KAPTR 5.0)
Tahniah kepada semua peserta Kursus Asuhan Permata Taska Rumah (KAPTR 5.0)!
Kursus ini merupakan KAPTR Siri Ke-5 bagi tahun 2023, yang telah diadakan bermula pada 18 Disember 2022 sehingga 19 Februari 2023 bertempat di Hotel Crystal Crown Petaling Jaya.
Obejktif penganjuran kursus ini adalah untuk mempertingkatkan pengetahuan dan kemahiran dalam bidang pengasuhan kanak kanak di dalam sesebuah Taska Rumah, penyertaan adalah dibuka kepada bakal pengusaha atau pengusaha sedia bagi bagi memastikan kanak kanak yang diasuh dapat menerima perkhidmatan yang holistik dan berkualiti.
Seperti tahun tahun sebelumnya, MASW telah berkolaborasi dengan Puan Maria Chin Abdullah (Mantan Ahli Parlimen Petaling Jaya) dan Kumpulan Sukarelawan Wanita bagi penganjuran kursus ini, setinggi tinggi penghargaan diberikan kepada Puan Maria Chin di atas kesudian untuk berkolaborasi, diharapkan kursus ini dapat diteruskan masa pada akan datang.

In conjunction with the World Social Work Day 2023, Social Work Program from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), under the student's association has organised a forum titled “KERJA SOSIAL - KERJAYA MELINDUNGI HAK ASASI MANUSIA". This is a collaboration of social work student's association from UNIMAS, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Malaya (UM).
