The World Social Work Day takes place on the 15th March 2022. The theme: ´Co-building a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind´ coincides with the theme of the people´s summit that will take place on the 29th June to the 2nd July.

The theme presents a vision and action plan to create new global values, policies and practices that develop trust, security and confidence for all people and the sustainability of the planet.

The lecture provide the framework for the future of social work practice that focuses on social transformation towards a greener, fairer, and more technological world as well as the social work effectiveness in responding to worldwide social-economic and societal disruptions in terms of conflict, refugees, migration, pandemic and natural disasters and the impending social reset

THE WAY FORWARD FOR SOCIAL WORK: LESSONS LEARN FROM THE GLOBAL TRENDS

The Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW) in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya (UM) has organized a hybrid public lecture entitled ‘The Way Forward for Social Work – Lessons from The Global Trends’. The public talk was delivered by Dr Rory Truell, IFSW Secretary-General and this program is aimed to provide a platform for sharing information about the direction of the social work profession from the perspective of current global developments with the Malaysian social work community, as well as interacting and exchanging ideas with Dr. Rory Truell to advance the social work profession.
